GET LOST IN THE JOY OF CREATING!

Life can feel busy—even for kids—and painting is a wonderful way to slow down, relax, and enjoy some calm, creative time. In these classes, artists are encouraged to have fun, express themselves, and get happily lost in the creative moment.

Ms. Rose will guide students step by step as they create a featured canvas. Along the way, every artist is encouraged to make their painting their own. Creative freedom is always celebrated! Artists can explore their imaginations, make independent choices, and focus on enjoying the process rather than worrying about perfection.

Classes include clear, supportive instruction with plenty of opportunities to customize each painting to match every artist’s unique style and creative vision.

No cookie-cutter art here—every masterpiece is one of a kind!

....................................................................................................................

*Every child works at their own pace.  Some may finish a painting quickly, while others take more time.  Both approaches are perfectly ok!  As such, the number of canvases we complete in a 6-week session will depend on each child's individual pace and the complexity of the canvases (some paintings might be completed in one class, while others may take 2 classes to complete). We will start the next canvas when the majority of students are ready, but those who want more time are welcome to continue working on their current painting first. Alternately, they are welcome to complete the current canvas at home on their own time (take-home materials are not provided) so they can start the next canvas at the same time as the rest of the class.

This is a no-stress zone.

*Canvas sizes vary depending on subject matter (typically 12" x 16").  They are sometimes offered as canvas panels, and other times as stretched canvases.

*Sometimes canvases will be pre-traced with the preliminary design so that we can focus on painting, and other times we’ll start from a blank canvas. We may even add fun arts-and-crafts embellishments!

Pre-traced, or not, there will ALWAYS be tons of opportunities for experimenting with various painting techniques, creative exploration, and adding one's own unique custom touch!

*Ms. Rose will choose the canvases to be painted, but will happily consider student suggestions when selecting canvas themes/subjects.

A NOTE ABOUT CREATIVE FREEDOM:

A one-of-a-kind painting means your young artist is...

FULLY IMMERSED IN THE CREATIVE PROCESS AND REAPING ALL THE MANY BENEFITS THAT CREATING ART HAS TO OFFER

(all of which far outweigh the end result).

COMMUNICATING EMOTIONS AND IDEAS THAT ARE IMPORTANT TO THEM AND THAT THEY ARE FEELING BRAVE ENOUGH TO SHARE WITH THE WORLD.  AMAZING.

PROBLEM-SOLVING & TAKING CREATIVE RISKS.

LEARNING ABOUT THE ART MATERIALS THEY ARE USING THROUGH EXPERIMENTATION.

BUILDING THEIR INTUITION AND SELF-CONFIDENCE.

PROCESSING MS. ROSE'S INSTRUCTION AND APPLYING WHAT INTERESTS THEM AND MEETS THEIR CREATIVE NEEDS AT THAT TIME.

BEING KIDS AND HAVING FUN!
