Dreaming Heart Workshops are offered on a bi-weekly basis (alternates between two age groups, 6-12 and 10-15 yrs.) and give the avid young artist a focused setting and the extra time to create a more detailed art piece.
2 whole hours! Oh, yeah!
Better yet, many of Ms. Rose's art workshops are holiday-themed, giving young people the rewarding opportunity to create giftable art from the heart!

FAIRY COTTAGE

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
We'll create the most adorable and welcoming homes and yards for our magical, glittery, gossamer-winged friends!
Young artists will have access to a wide variety of sparkly, magic-friendly, fairy-inspired arts & crafts materials so they can create in style!

MAJESTIC MANDALA WALL-HANGING

Oh, the mandala... that cosmic symbol of peace, interconnection, and balance.
With its mesmerizing, free-flowing patterns and rhythmic linework, artists with get blissfully lost in the moment as they create their own one-of-a-kind mandala wall-hanging.
We'll draw our mandalas on canvas using pencil, sharpie, marker, and watercolour paint. Then, for the perfect finishing touch, we'll adorn our wire hangers with colourful beads...ooo la la... a mandala masterpiece!

BEAUTIFUL BOUQUET YARN PAINTING

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
Let's "paint" with yarn to design gorgeous, colourful flower arrangements on stretched canvas!
We'll glue yarn...fluffy yarn, rainbow yarn, sparkly yarn, embroidery thread... in expressive patterns (spirals, squiggles, curves, and more) as we shape our flowers and vases into one-of-a-kind masterpieces.
Then we'll paint our backgrounds with dreamy watercolour, and make our paintings pop with beads, buttons, and more!
This art workshop is so much tactile fun!

HOW TO DRAW A PORTRAIT
Saturday, Sept 16th, 2023
12:00-2:00 p.m.
Ages 10-15 yrs.
Pre-registration is required. No drop-ins. Capped at 12 participants.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
Using graphite pencil, we'll explore, step-by-step, the proportions of the human. We'll sketch facial features (eyes, nose, mouth, and ears), draw realistic-looking hair, and shade and highlight our drawings for greater realism.
This workshop is perfect for the focused and avid drawer who wants to enjoy some peaceful art time while building their drawing skill and knowledge.
Please note, Ms. Rose's sample drawing is just that. Students will be using a variety of reference images, Ms. Rose's instruction, and their own amazing imaginations to design a character of their own making.
This will give each artist the opportunity to customize the look and gender of their character so that is in line with their unique creative vision.
This workshop is for youth only.
